About Department of MEC
Established in the year 2010, the department has B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering with an intake of 240(4 sections of UG B.Tech Mechanical Engineering) and M.Tech in Thermal Engineering with an intake of 24. Mechanical Engineers touch almost every aspect of technology. They create machines, products and technological systems that benefit society. Mechanical engineering projects can range from designing heart valves and artificial limbs, clockwork radios and dentists’ drills, building racing cars, jet engines, space modules, solar heaters and wind mills. Mechanical Engineering is a large and diversified field. The department is equipped with fully established labs that are very beneficial to the students to get deep insight and practical knowledge of the subject.
The department has won the pride of place in this institution by its stellar performance over the years, since its inception. Value based education laced with enviable ethical and moral standards have provided the right environment to create and leave a legacy of human assets, to steep our nation in pride and to attract the MNCs to make a beeline to rope in our talents. The faculty has been consistently striving to offer conceptual clarity, to make the students to be truly innovative and to orient their practical skill sets to live up to their dreams of an engineer in action. The abundantly proficient teaching fold and the state-of-the-art laboratory facilities are the value additions of this department which offer excellent academic ambience to excel professionally.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
- The graduates exhibit strong knowledge in mathematics, sciences and engineering for successful employment or higher education in mechanical engineering
